What is Rotary International ?

  • Rotary was founded by Paul Harris in Evanston, Chicago – the first Rotary meeting was held on 23 February 1905
  • Today Rotary International is a worldwide organisation of men and women who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities at home and overseas – ‘to make the world a better place’
  • World wide: there are 32,596 Rotary clubs, 1,221,812 Rotarians, 7,073 Rotaract clubs

As Rotarians we respect The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say and do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
